United Way of the National Capital Area: Within a week, created and executed a crisis communications campaign to raise awareness and increase donations for United Way NCA’s Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) launched in response to the impact of COVID-19. Leveraged earned media to bring significant attention to the EAF in the region, which resulted in substantial donations for the organization to the tune of 2 million and invitations for the CEO to speak about the issue on a national level.
SourceAmerica: Within days of being hired for an internal communication program, identified the urgent need to create and launch a strategic communications campaign in response to the 2019 government shutdown. Through earned media, brought significant national and local attention to SourceAmerica’s position on the issue to advocate to both the Senate and the House of Representatives toward legislation that would provide back pay to contract employees, including AbilityOne® employees with disabilities.
DC Chamber of Commerce: Developed and led media strategy that mitigated negative media attention directed at the organization from the Chair of the DC Council who wrongfully attacked the Chamber over their position on proposed legislation that would negatively impact its members. The Chamber embraced our strategy of articulating their position on the bill over responding to the attacks, and as a result, the Chamber’s point of view was clearly reported in all media coverage, which positioned the Chamber in a positive light despite the negative attack.
